Hats have been trending for a few years now, and I don’t know about you, but I can’t get enough of them! I love how easily they can transform an outfit, making even the most basic pieces look super chic and fashion-forward. And with new color palettes, textures and shapes rising to popularity every season, I love experimenting with different styles. But there’s one piece I keep going back to, year after year, season after season…

A black wool hat.
Whereas straw hats and baseball caps tend to have their moments, a good black wool hat can be used throughout the year. You can wear them with floral dresses and jeans, and from winter through fall. The possibilities are endless! But since I know that taking on a trend can be a little intimidating, today I figured I’d provide you with a little black wool hat outfit inspiration to get your creative juices flowing. I promise you, this trend is EASY to nail. And ANYONE can do it. Even someone who doesn’t think they’re a “hat person” (I’m actually one of those people).
To dip your toe into the world of black wool hats, you’re first going to need a good piece. I don’t care if it comes from Forever 21 or Nordstrom so long as you feel good in it! Then, pull out your basics – all of your plain tees and denim. Those pieces will be the foundation for your black wool hat outfit, and you’d be surprised by how many outfits you can create with them alone. Try black on black and white on white. Tuck your shirt in, throw on belt, and if you’re feeling brave layer on an oversized cardigan! Trying something new, especially a new trend, can feel weird at first. So just keep it simple until you warm up to it, then experiment further!
I’ll leave you with some more pics of my black wool hat outfit creation (below). And, as per usual, links to everything I’m wearing can be found in the sliding widget under the picture above.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading. I hope to see you again soon!
XX,

I love that hat and cardi! I wish I can pull off wearing hats. You look fabulous!
Love a simple black wool hat! I have two I hardly ever wear but you really gave some good tips on keeping it simple 🙂
