Black Friday Preview With Beachwood Place

You guys, my favorite week of the year is officially here! While I’m BEYOND excited to host family at our house for Thanksgiving (more on that here), I’m equally as thrilled to spend the week chatting about great gift ideas and awesome Black Friday finds with all of you. I have a lot in store! So let’s kick things off with a little Black Friday preview, shall we?

Over the weekend, Dane and I hit up Beachwood Place to check out their Pre-Black Friday sales and other holiday festivities. Let’s just say it was a super successful trip, lol. There were already so many great deals out there that made braving the crowds worthwhile. And they’re only going to get better! So here’s a quick rundown of what I found and where I shopped to help you assemble your gameplan.

My 2018 Black Friday Preview

Basics:

I’m always in need of basics like camis, t-shirts and long sleeve tees. I mean I wear them daily! However, I hate paying full price for them (anyone else?). So I always put them at the top of my Black Friday shopping list to ensure I save. This year I was able to get everything I need between Express (currently offering 40% off storewide) and the Madewell clearance rack. So if you’re in the market, I would start there.

PRO TIP: If you want to save even more, keep in mind that Express typically offers 50% off storewide on the day before Thanksgiving and on Black Friday. And I’m pretty sure I just saw something about them starting that deal on Tuesday this year (tomorrow!!), so be on the lookout.

Random Little Gifts:

I don’t know what else to call this category, lol, but we all have those “random” people we buy for during the holidays – teachers, coworkers, neighbors, party hosts/hostesses, etc. I like picking these things up during all of the Black Friday madness because 1. I get them out of the way, and 2. I can buy bigger, better gifts without spending extra moolah.

I managed to get most of my “random little gifts” out of the way this year at Lolli and Pops, the cutest little candy and soda shop EVER.  They’re offering a gorgeous box of chocolates for just $18 when you spend $25. So we snagged a few of those! We also got some gourmet popcorn, hot chocolate sets and other random extras. I never know what I’m going to need to whip out, so I like to be prepared, hehe.

Sweaters:

There are SO many great sweaters out there right now, and the prices on them are even better! My favorites came from Gap and Express and were 40% off. However, I also found a couple of good ones at Zara and H&M for under $35. While those two weren’t on sale, the pricing was right in line with those that were, so I didn’t mind!

PRO TIP: Do the math. Don’t get sucked in by marketing ploys and start buying things JUST because they’re on sale this week. If you’re going to spend the money on something, make sure you love it. And don’t assume items that are not on sale are not fair priced. There are plenty of stores (like H&M and Zara) that have great pieces and prices yearound. So make sure you don’t skip them!

Home Decor:

Between Nordstrom and Pottery Barn, Dane and I had a ball picking out some new Christmas decorations. Remember, we’ve been in apartments the past 7 years. So this is the first time we have a house to fill with Christmas cheer – eeek!! The decorations at Nordstrom are all 25% off right now, and everything at Pottery Barn is 20% off (at least currently, I think that discount will increase by the end of the week). Still, those are great deals for pieces you’ll keep and use for years to come.

Outerwear:

If you’re looking for a good deal on women’s outwear, Abercrombie’s the way to go. They have a solid variety of dress coats, puffer vests and puffer jackets, all up to 50% off. If you want a pom beanie and/or blanket scarf to match, they have those on major sale, too. Next to Abercrombie, I would say Gap, Dillard’s and Zara have the best variety and value when it comes to women’s outerwear.

Truly, the only thing I found disappointing was that there weren’t many Pre Black Friday shoe sales. But I’m certain there will be some popping up as the week progresses. So be sure to stay tuned to my Instagram for sale updates, Black Friday finds and other holiday shopping shenanigans. Like I said, I’ll be covering a lot, so keep an eye out for my posts. And if there’s something specific (or a bunch of things, honestly) you’re looking for, please comment below so I can keep it on my radar!

Special thanks to Beachwood Place for sponsoring this post and allowing me to do what I love – help all of you! If you’re local, I highly recommend shopping at Beachwood this holiday season, and all the time, really. They have such a solid selection for every body and budget!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading. I hope to see you again soon.
