Putting gifts in a mug is the perfect and practical way to celebrate any occasion, be it your best friend’s new job or your coworker’s milestone birthday.
Personally, I love coffee mug gifts because they leave so much room for creativity. You can go with a specific theme, or you can simply go with the recipient’s favorite things. Either way, they can be both thoughtful and useful.
But if you’re not the creative type, or you’re feeling uninspired, they can be a little tricky too. Well, at least until you get your wheels turning, which I’m here to help you do!

Gifts in a Mug Idea #1: Desk Essentials
This coffee mug gift idea is perfect for someone who’s starting a new job! I don’t know about you, but I like to keep products like deodorant, hairspray, hand cream, and chapstick in my desk. You just never know when you’re going to need them! So these mug fillers are super practical.
BTW, you might recognize some of these items from my post This is How to Make Awesome Gift Baskets for Women (on a Budget). They’ve been hot sellers, and I actually use them myself, which is why I’m recommending them again.
Here are the links to the products shown above (or similar). Click the arrows to scroll through, then click the pictures to shop.

Gifts in a Mug Idea #2: Self-Care Essentials
This coffee mug gift idea includes my favorite self-care essentials – a face mask, cozy socks, hair ties, chapstick, hand cream, and a pocket calendar (because if I don’t get everything out of my head, I can’t chill). This would make for a great just because gift idea. It could work for a birthday gift or encouragement gift, as well.

Gifts in a Mug Idea #3: Birthday Essentials
A birthday party for one, this mug gift idea includes everything needed to make a mug cake and celebrate a fresh new start! I added fun candles and a motivational sticker to give it a festive touch.
PS: I’ve linked gluten free mug cakes to suit those with an allergy or intolerance.

Gifts in a Mug Idea #4: Holiday Essentials
If the mug gift you’re creating is to celebrate a specific holiday, just use mug fillers that are relevant.
For instance, some Christmas mug gift ideas you can consider are hot chocolate supplies (linked below), homemade Christmas cookies, or even a DIY stovetop potpourri.
But if you were creating a Valentine’s Day gift, you might consider a big bag of candy hearts or Hershey’s kisses.
Target always has cute, festive candies and supplies. So if I were you, I’d start there!
