How to Organize Your Spices (9 Storage Options)

Inside Your Kitchen Cabinets

Using a tiered spice rack is a great option for organizing cabinet shelves. These allow your spice bottles to sit on different levels so you can see all of the labels at once and easily find whatever you’re looking for.

Here are some good ones to check out…

If your cabinets are deep and/or you have vertical space to leverage, using a sliding spice rack is a great idea. While installation might take some time, it’ll save you so much space and time (no more digging!) in the long run.

Here are a few to look at…

Pro Tip: Store your most important spices in the front of your spice rack for easy access!

On a Cabinet Door

Another great way to store spices – especially in a small space – is to leverage your cupboard door. To do this you can use spice gripper clips or a hanging spice rack. They won’t just save you a lot of space, but so much money as they’re both incredibly cost effective options.

Inside a Kitchen Drawer

If you have plenty of drawer space, make a spice drawer! Just put some drawer inserts into a pull-out drawer and lay your spices flat.

This is what I did, and it’s seriously so convenient. Especially because my spice drawer is right on my kitchen island where I do all of my food prep!

While you can totally create a spice drawer using spices that are in their original containers, I will say it’s a heck of a lot easier to do if you transfer your spices to matching small containers. Or at least containers that are the same size!

When your spices are various shapes and sizes, fitting them into a drawer can feel like a game of Tetris. But when your spice containers are the same size, they’re much easier to organize.

Here are some spice racks, acrylic drawer inserts, and matching spice jars to consider…

On Your Kitchen Counter

If you don’t have enough space to store your spices in a cabinet or drawer, you could always use your kitchen counter.

If you’re not sure how to organize your spices on a counter, consider getting an aesthetically pleasing spice organizer or lazy Susan. This will make your spice collection appear as part of your kitchen decor!

Here are some great options…

On Your Kitchen Walls

Another easy way to store your spices is to hang them on your kitchen walls. This is especially helpful if you have a lot of spices, but not a lot of storage space between your cabinets, drawers, and countertops.

Again, they sell really pretty spice racks and spice shelves that you can hang on any open space so your spice collection can double as home decor.

I thought these were nice…

On the Back of Your Pantry Door

If you have a pantry, and a ton of spices, a pantry door spice organizer can create a big impact. With this you can keep your everyday spices at eye level and your entire spice collection completely out of the way.

These look super functional and are well rated…
