Plaid Flannel Shirt or Dress
One of the best ways to style a down vest for the fall weather specifically is to pair it with a plaid flannel shirt or dress and suede boots. It creates a cute, casual outfit that’s just the right weight for trips to the apple orchard, pumpkin patch, and/or farm market. Plus, is there anything more fall than a plaid shirt? I don’t think so. 😉

Dark Blue Jeans
Another great way to wear a puffer vest is to pair it with dark blue jeans and one of the many long sleeve t-shirts you probably already have in your closet! Personally, I love the look of dark blue skinny jeans with a black long sleeve t shirt and a quilted puffer vest. It’s a chic, casual weekend look that never gets old to me. If you work in a casual office environment, it’s work-friendly too!
PS: Quilted puffer vests are a great option if you prefer a lighter fill.

Light Skinny Blue Jeans
A winter white color palette is another fun puffer vest outfit formula! For example, you could do a white top with a winter white puffer vest (or vice versa) and light blue jeans. Add a coordinating pair of leather boots and you’re golden!

Black Jeans
If you’re curious as to how to wear a puffer vest for a dinner party or night out, pair it with black jeans, a knit sweater, and ankle boots! Opt for a vegan leather puffer vest to give the look an extra edge.

Black Leggings
As a work from home mom who tackles a bunch of different tasks on any given day, black leggings are easily the most worn item in my closet. And during the cold months, puffer vests are a close second! That said, I style the two pieces together very often. And one of my most worn puffer vest outfits includes black leggings and an oversized black sweater. As you can see above, it looks so comfy…but also so put together!

Pullover Sweater
A pullover sweater, like the legging-friendly sweaters from Abercrombie that I swear by, is another perfect piece to layer under a puffer vest. I have this exact buffalo plaid printed shirt in black and white and love styling it with skinny jeans sneakers, similar to above.
