Knee boots
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, knee-high boots are a wardrobe essential.
While they’re a popular choice for the fall season, you can totally pull them off in winter and spring, too. So they’re truly worth the investment!
For a stylish look that’s perfect for date night, pair black tall boots with a black sweater dress. If you need extra warmth, just add black tights and/or a black leather jacket. It’s such a cool, monochromatic look that honestly never gets old!
Combat Boots
Another great pair of shoes to wear with sweater dresses, especially on cold days, are combat boots! You can pair them with a mini sweater dress or even an oversized sweater dress to create an edgy look. But it’s a cozy look, no less!
Chunky Boots
Chunky boots, like lug sole boots (one of the current fashion trends), could also work for your sweater dress look. I love the way they look with a midi dress and bare legs! Especially if said dress has slits up the sides! It’s such a chic look for the cold season.
Boots With Block Heels
I’m not a fan of boots with a stiletto heel because they’re just not practical during the winter months. At least not here in Ohio!
That said, when I want to wear heels in the winter I opt for boots with block heels. There are so many different styles and so many different ways to wear them!
If you’re styling a long sweater dress, I’d recommend getting a pair of ankle boots with a block heel. These would work for midi sweater dresses, too.
But if you’re styling shorter knit sweater dresses, a tall boot with a block heel is the perfect choice IMO. They’ll add warmth and, of course, style.
Chunky Sneakers / Platform Sneakers
Another way to style your cozy sweater dresses is with a pair of sneakers – platform sneakers to be exact! They’ll elongate your legs without the discomfort of a heel – what more could you ask for? 😉
Ankle Booties
Ankle-length boots are my kind of shoes because they go with everything, from knit dresses and a pair of tights to oversized sweaters and beyond!
That said, if you have to invest in just one pair of boots, I’d do a tan pair of ankle boots. I promise, you’ll wear them on repeat. And all year round! They’re definitely my favorite pair of boots in my closet.
OTK Boots / Pair of Thigh-High Boots
Over-the-knee boots, OTK boots, thigh-high boots… they’re all one in the same! And they look super cute with a short knitted dress!
While they’re not the best choice shoe for my body shape personally (I’m too short for them!), they do make for some stylish outfits. So if you can pull them off, you absolutely should absolutely try them for your sweater dress outfit.
