If you’re not sure what to wear with joggers, I’m the woman to ask!
As a work-from-home mom, jogger pants are and integral part of my wardrobe, lol. I wear them at least 4 days a week during the cooler Ohio months – at least.
They’re one of my favorite casual day pieces because, in addition to being super comfortable, there are so many ways to style them for everyday wear. Even if you’re someone, like me, who subscribes to the capsule wardrobe method.
As you’ll see below, joggers can be paired with so many clothing staples you likely already have in your closet. Whether your vibe is more edgy, preppy, or on the casual side, there’s a jogger outfit idea for you.
That said, I created the little style guide below to show you how to style a pair of joggers.

Moto Jacket
Rocking a black leather jacket with fashion joggers is a great option for extra warmth and edge.
I love the way a black moto jacket looks over a gray crewneck sweatshirt and off-white joggers. Color blocking makes this otherwise simple outfit look extra chic, don’t you think?
If you’re not into moto jackets, even a black bomber jacket would be cute here!

Crop Tops
This is one of those casual outfits that I love on other people, but would probably never wear on my own. However, I figured I’d share this cute, sporty look because it’s a solid jogger outfit option for some.
A great way to wear crop tops with joggers is to match the base pieces – like a pair of black joggers with a black crop top. Then throw a coordinating zip-up hoodie, shacket, or fleece on for extra warmth.
To finish the look, just add some white sneakers and a dad hat.
PS: The Nike Air Max 97’s or Nike Air Force 1’s are some of the best shoes to wear with joggers, IMO. I have both and they are SO comfy. They go with so much, too.

Tucked Tank Top or Bodysuit
If you’re not into showing skin, you can rock a tucked-in tank top or bodysuit in lieu of a crop top to create a similar look to the crop top outfit.
You can complete the outfit with a dad hat if you’re trying to go for a more athletic look, or you could do a knotted headband for a look that’s a little more feminine.
Above you can see what this would look like if you did it with grey joggers.

Denim Jacket
Even I feel completely uninspired by my wardrobe some days.
So when I’m not sure what to wear with joggers, this outfit combination is my go to.
I throw on a pair of joggers with a plain white t-shirt and layer a denim jacket over top. Then I throw on some dainty gold jewelry (I love Gorjana jewelry!) and sneakers to complete the outfit!
It’s an easy peasy, stylish look that I honestly never get sick of.

Graphic T-Shirt or Sweatshirt
Another simple way to wear joggers is to pair them with a graphic t-shirt or graphic sweatshirt.
I always find great graphic tees and sweatshirts at Free People and Abercrombie, but even Target seems to have a decent selection most of the time.
Finish off the look with a cute pair of sneakers and a messy bun or ponytail.

Matching Sweatshirt
This is probably the easiest way to style joggers – just pair them with a matching sweatshirt!
A matching sweatsuit is such a simple look, but a classic one that will never go out of style.
My absolute favorite matching sweatsuit at the moment is from Gap. Their vintage oversized hoodie and jogger set is so comfy and cute.

Button-Down Shirt
Another great piece to pair with lounge joggers is a button-down shirt!
You could do a denim button-down shirt or plaid button-down shirt, but either way you’ll probably want to layer the piece over a plain t-shirt and leave it unbuttoned. It’s a cute, casual look that can be done so many different ways. All you have to do is change the button-down!

Oversized Cardigan
Oversized cardigans are one of my favorite casual wear pieces, and of course they look great with casual joggers, too!
Of course you could do a white tee underneath, but you could also do a striped tee or even graphic tee to spice things up.

Wool Coat
This is another athleisure look I’m a huge fan of – layering a wool coat over a zip-front sweatshirt and joggers!
This simple outfit is perfect for running errands. It’s also a good choice for a winter travel day because it allows you to carry your coat on board rather than it taking up space in your luggage. That is, of course, if you’re heading to a climate where a coat would be necessary.

Turtleneck
Right now, turtleneck sweatshirts are making a major comeback. And they pair so cute with everyday joggers!
You could do a regular turtleneck, too, and tuck it in. Throw a belt bag over your shoulder and you’ll be good to go.
I actually just bought that exact sage green turtleneck sweatshirt from Gap and LOVE it. The fit is so flattering, and the color is even more beautiful in person.

Puffer Jacket or Puffer Vest
We are a big fan of puffers in this household! Dane and I both have them in several different colors and wear them all on repeat.
To style them for the athleisure trend, layer them over a matching sweatsuit or a turtleneck and jogger combo like I’ve done above.

Blazer
Believe it or not, you can totally style sweatpants with a blazer.
I like the way blazers look with matching sweatsuits, especially if you do a plaid blazer or something with a print of sorts. The simple base really makes the outerwear pop!

Knit Top
A plain knit top is another easy way to style your favorite joggers.
I recommend something a bit oversized, like the henley shown above. Just give it a little front tuck to give you some shape and you’ll be good to go!
PS: My absolute favorite basic knit top is the Free People Arden tee. You can style it with skinny jeans, track pants, and even leggings! You can wear it alone, or layer it underneath a shacket, sweatshirt, etc. It’s definitely more of a splurge piece, but I wear it so often it’s worth the extra cost to me. I have it in two colors currently and hope to get more.
If you weren’t sure what to wear with joggers, I hope these styling tips helped you to think up a few different outfits you could easily put together – ideally with stuff you already own!
Truly, you can use any style of joggers for these looks – classic casual joggers, sporty joggers, dressy joggers (like faux leather joggers), etc.
However, I’d invest in classic casual joggers like those you’ve seen in this post before anything else. They’re some of the most versatile pants you’ll ever own!
If you’re not sure where to shop for these comfy pants, try Gap first. They truly have some of the best joggers. I have pairs from 4-5 years ago that are still in great shape.
If that fails, you can also look at Old Navy, Athleta, Lululemon, Nordstrom (the Zella brand especially!), and Abercrombie. All of those stores tend to have a nice selection of well-made joggers.
So – which of these looks do you think you’ll integrate into your personal style? I’d love to hear so I can provide additional inspiration and resources, so please share in the comments!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading.
Do your best today, friend!
